Same crew.
Every week.
Real friends.

Not another dinner with strangers. Crew Nite puts you in a small crew that designs a menu together, splits the jobs, and cooks, eats and cleans up together, every week for a 12-week season.

How it works

Three rounds. One table.

01 · Menu round

Design the menu together

Online, during the week. This week's theme comes with dishes from the Crew Nite Menu Library. Everyone pitches their favorites, tweaks are welcome, the crew votes, and the menu locks. Got your own idea? Pitch a theme and the AI Menu Builder drafts dishes to the same standards, adapted for your crew's dietary needs.

Every menu in the library is created by Sam Fairchild, a former MasterChef contestant, built to be approachable, nearly foolproof and easy on the wallet.

02 · Logistics

The app splits the jobs

Who shops, who preps, who's on mains, who's on dishes. Roles rotate, so nobody is always stuck at the sink.

03 · Crew Nite

Cook, eat, clean up

Same kitchen night, same faces. Phones in the basket. Then do it again next week.

Why crews, not strangers

Friendship takes hours, not one night.

40–60 hrs

That's roughly how long it takes to turn an acquaintance into a casual friend.1 One dinner with strangers doesn't get you there. A season does.

12 nights × ~3.5 hrs
≈ 42 hours

One Crew Nite season puts you in that range with the same people, before counting the menu chat during the week.1

The online part

The Drop & Plates Up

Every Sunday

The Drop

One weekly theme card for every crew, pulled from the Menu Library, like "Taco Night" or "Ramen Bar." Every crew cooks the same theme that week and posts a 15-second plate reveal under #CrewNite. FoodTok is already huge: #FoodTok had 71.1B views in TikTok's 2023 figure.2

Every Crew Nite

Plates Up

One prompt, same time on every Crew Nite. The whole crew gets in one photo, with the food, then phones go back in the basket. It's proof you were there together.

Coming later: Crew League, a season feed that ranks crews (not people) on showing up and rotating roles.

Who's behind it

From the founder

I launched Kitchen Champions to help ease senior loneliness by bringing people together to cook. That work showed me that younger adults could benefit even more from shared cooking. Gen Z is the generation with the most to gain from a way to build lasting, real-world friendships, so Crew Nite brings the same idea to 18–34s. I competed on MasterChef, and I designed every menu so you don't have to be a great cook.

FAQ

Questions

How big is a crew?

Small: about 8–10 people, so everyone gets a job and nobody gets lost.

Where do the recipes come from?

From the Crew Nite Menu Library, a growing set of themed menus. Each week's Drop pulls a theme from the library, and your crew picks and votes on dishes within it, with room to tweak. Crews can also pitch their own theme, and the AI Menu Builder drafts dishes to the same standards. Every menu in the library is created by Sam Fairchild, a former MasterChef contestant, built to be approachable, nearly foolproof and easy on the wallet.

What about food restrictions?

Tell us your crew's needs (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, nut allergy, halal, kosher-style) and the app adapts the menu: it swaps ingredients where it can and flags dishes that don't fit so the crew picks another option. The same goes for AI Menu Builder drafts. Allergy note: the app flags ingredients, but always check labels yourself if anyone has a serious allergy.

Do I need to know how to cook?

No. Roles rotate, and there's always prep, shopping, plating and dishes. The crew carries the skill.

Where does it happen?

In a crew member's kitchen, rotating hosts. Crew Nite doesn't sell food or run venues. You shop and cook yourselves.

What does it cost?

Pricing isn't set yet. We're running a pilot first. Groceries are split within the crew.

What's the $20 deposit?

Right now it's just a checkbox telling us you'd hold a spot. No card is taken on this page. If we launch a pilot in your city, we'll email you first, and any real deposit would be fully refundable.

Can I bring my friends?

Yes. Pick "Start a crew" below and we'll help you fill the remaining seats.
